An Emporia man went to Newman Regional Health for treatment after a crash in the northwest part of the city Tuesday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Frederic Hernandez was eastbound on 24th when he lost control of his car for currently unlisted reasons. His car went into a ditch near Apple Drive and hit a tree.
Hernandez suffered apparently minor injuries. He was not wearing his seatbelt. He was the only person in the car.
3:45 pm Tuesday: One to Newman following injury accident in northwest Emporia
One person suffered minor injuries following a single-vehicle accident in northwest Emporia Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling eastbound on 24th Avenue and Apple Drive just after 2:20 pm. According to KHP, the driver then lost control for currently unknown reasons and collided with a tree.
The driver, a male, was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment of minor injuries. No other occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.
