Increasingly, leadership education is becoming a key facet for universities -- and a big draw for college students.

Emporia State University is embarking on a new partnership with the Kansas Leadership Center in Wichita. On the ESU Buzz with President Dr. Michael Shonrock on Thursday, Dr. Marie Miller, Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, said civic leadership is the underlying goal. ESU General Education Council chair Jodie Leiss tells KVOE News this will have an impact across campus.

Miller says this is Leadership Center's first collaboration with a university. ESU is in the process of preparing certain faculty to start the work, with training this summer, curriculum planning this fall and classes ready to teach by spring.
