Aug. 8: Bucket Calf Show

Monday evening, the bucket calf show, wrapped up a day full of 4-H livestock activities at the Lyon County Fair.
 
In this event many of the younger 4-H students get their first chance at testing out the waters of showing an animal.
 
The champion in the eldest division, ages 11-12, was Lauryn Broyles and she tells KVOE that preparation for the event has been underway since before the summer began.

This isn't Broyles first rodeo, she competed in the bucket calf show last year and also competed in other events this year as well.

In regards to joining 4-h, Broyles says she enjoys meeting other 4-H students and getting to watch her animals grow under her care.
