The Lyon County Fair Dog Show officially kicked off 4-H competitions at the Fairgrounds on Friday.

Five dogs were entered in the competition, performing in two categories: showmanship and obedience, with the overall champions determined afterward.

Tee Preisner of Sunflower 4H Club won titles of Senior Champion for Showmanship and Champion for Dog Obedience. Preisner says he was pleased with the performance of his three-year-old Great Dane named Blue.

 

Karis McAllister of Riverside 4H Club took the title of Senior Reserve Champion for Showmanship, also taking home Reserve Champion for Dog Obedience and Champion Beginner. McAllister says they have only been training her Husky named Boone for six months.
