DESCRIPTION
OF JOB
Under
the supervision of the City Engineer, the Engineer Technician is responsible
for performing technical work related to all surveys, drafting, and inspection
of City contracted and Public Works projects.
STANDARDS
FOR INITIAL CONSIDERATION
$ Construction, drafting,
design, survey, inspection or related field experience required.
$ High School Diploma or
GED required. Technical degree in civil technology preferred. Ability to obtain
State Inspectors certification required.
$ Knowledge of survey,
drafting, CAD, design, and inspection practices and techniques.
$ Excellent mathematical
skills, including figuring horizontal and vertical curves and grades.
$ Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
$ Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and on and around
construction sites.
$ Must have the ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach
and to walk over rough terrain during inspections of job sites.
