A one-time chief financial officer at an Emporia manufacturing business has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of embezzlement.
Sandra Moore, age 58 of Emporia, pleaded guilty in federal court Monday.
Moore admitted embezzling over $265,000 from Sauder Custom Fabrication starting in 2008. Moore also admitted using several means to take the money, including making unauthorized transfers from a company account to her personal account, issuing unauthorized checks to deposit in her personal account and issuing unauthorized checks to repay loans she got from her 401(K) account.
Moore is set for sentencing March 3. She faces a maximum fine of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
