The sounds of the season filled the Granada on Sunday.
The Emporia Municipal Band held their annual Christmas Concert at the Granada yesterday, performing a variety of holiday tunes, from the classic "Sleigh Ride" to the heroic "Adventum."
The concert was free admission, but donations were accepted in order to fund the upcoming concert season. Donations from the concert totaled over $2200, which, according to Friends of the City Band Treasurer Harold Schwinn, is a little lower than most years. He says that money gets used in every way possible to support a band.
As always, the Municipal Band was conducted by Gary McCarty, and KVOE's Roger Hartsook was the Master of Ceremonies.
