USPS: Online mailing can speed process, save money

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year for most of us. For Postal Service employees, it's the most busy time of the year.

Spokesman Brian Sperry says you can avoid long lines by going online to mail your holiday parcels.

If you're heading to a post office, Sperry says first-class mail needs to be mailed by Friday and priority mail by Saturday. Priority mail express mail can be mailed Monday and still reach its destination by Christmas Eve.

Some estimates have the Postal Service handling 400 to 600 million pieces of mail during the holidays.
