The USD 386 Madison-Virgil Board of Education has two meetings coming Wednesday. Both are designed to gain input as the district starts the process of finding a new superintendent.
At 5:15 pm, a community meeting will be held at the Madison High Library. Representatives of the Kansas Association of School Boards will hear from the public on the qualities and characteristics they want in a new district leader.
The board, meanwhile, has a formal special meeting at 7 pm to discuss both characteristics and the process for a new hire. That meeting will also be at Madison High School.
The district is formally beginning its search now after current Superintendent Ryan Bradbury announced his resignation last month. Bradbury is taking the superintendent position at USD 289 Wellsville after nine years leading Madison-Virgil. A brochure outlining the position and timeline for replacing Bradbury will be released by the district this week.
