Nominations are due Wednesday for the 2014 induction class into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.
Typically, the deadline has already passed, but Director Carol Strickland says Hall of Fame leaders felt a change was in order.
Close to 20 nominations had been submitted by Tuesday morning, and Strickland anticipated several more coming in before the 5 pm deadline.
Nominees must have at least two decades of K-12 teaching experience. They must also have a bachelor's degree or higher and they must have a valid teaching certificate from the state where they are either currently teaching or have taught if they have retired.
Nomination information is online at www.nthf.org or by calling 341-5660. Inductions and the dedication for the Memorial to Fallen Educators will take place in mid-June.
