Concerns for personal information may be leading to low interest in public Navigator meetings

Navigators are not seeing a large influx of people with questions on the Affordable Care Act as the deadline draws nearer.

Christine Sullivan, outreach and eligibility specialst for the Flint Hills Community Health Center - Lyon County Health Department, says only 7 people showed up to Tuesday's public meeting at the Bowyer Community Building. She says most of their clients just come to their office, for any number of reasons.

Sullivan says there are still some misconceptions about the new healthcare marketplace, and that Navigators at the Health Center - Health Department are available to answer any questions and clear up confusion. The deadline to register is March 31.

The next public meeting will be at the Morris County Courthouse on Jan. 30, from 1-4pm. For more information, call the Health Center - Health Department at 342-4864.
