Lebo man receives life in prison for child sex assault

A Lebo man has been sentenced to life in prison for child molestation.

Alvin Houston III, 43, has been sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 40 years.

The sentencing, which follows the state's Jessica's Law provisions, follows Houston's conviction for on count of aggravated criminal sodomy in December.

Houston was charged in September after a 4-year-old child told her grandmother about alleged abuse. The grandmother told a school teacher, who alerted authorities.

Houston was convicted of attempted rape of a victim under age 14 back in 2000.
