Five days after a water line break forced Newman Regional Health to move its patient registration area, the hospital is reopening the main entrance Tuesday.
Registrations were moved to the patient tower after a water line broke in the north lobby ceiling early Thursday morning, flooding about 8,500 square feet with up to two inches of standing water inside. Hospital staffers and Emporia firefighters helped to push the water outside after the fire alarm was triggered.
The regular patient registration area opens at 7 am. Additional work is expected in that area at least through the day.
