Outdoor Appreciation Day marks fifth year

Saturday morning's Hunt for the Finsh 5k walk/run got off to a soggy start at the fifth Annual Beau Arndt Outdoor Appreciation Day, but things cleared up for the other activities which began at 10 am.

Isacc Williams had a couple favorite activities.

"The archery is a physical thing. You don't have to just learn about it. And the waterfowl. They had really cool calls and stuff."

The event honors Beau Arndt who was tragically shot and killed while goose hunting with friends by a careless second party hunting game from a nearby road.

The website BeauArndtFoundation.org says the event is dedicated to continuing the ideals and beliefs that Beau lived. The foundations mission statement is "Helping Children and Their Families Enjoy the Outdoors Safely."
