Investigation into vehicle-pedestrian accident at Aldi's continues

Emporia Police are now considering an accident at Aldi's Monday afternoon as a criminal offense.

Sgt. Lisa Sage said the investigation into a vehicle-pedestrian accident at Aldi's in the Emporia West Plaza continues.

Sage said there is currently no one in custody, after an incident involving a pedestrian who was walking behind a vehicle, which backed up and struck the walker.

The pedestrian was taken to Newman Regional Health for minor injuries. The vehicle driver was not hurt. Names of those involved have not been released.
