On Thursday, Sacred Heart is hosting a special information meeting for area World War II veterans interested in taking an upcoming Honor Flight.
The program sends veterans to Washington, D.C., on a short trip to see the World War II Memorial and other memorials in and around our nation's capital. It also brings students along for an experience they won't soon forget.
Parishioner Christy Freeman encourages both veterans and members of the general public to attend Thursday.
The meeting is at 7 pm at the Sacred Heart parish hall.
Several speakers will have information about the Honor Flight program, including Lyndon Superintendent Brian Spencer, Lyndon funeral director Marty Feldner, information spokesman Homer Clark and past Honor Flight attendees Bill Borst and Lee Nelson. Garrett Fitch and Quinn Spencer, two students who have gone on past HonorFlights, will also be on hand.
