Scott Briggs is looking for another four-year term as Lyon County commissioner.
Briggs announced Thursday he has filed for re-election to the County Commission First District, doing so by fee. Briggs was first elected to the board in 2007, so he is seeking his third term in office. Briggs says the past couple of years have seen a lot of good things come locally, and he says he wants to continue to be involved.
A Democrat, Briggs is a farmer and rancher near Reading. His position is the only one on the commission up for election this year. He is currently unopposed. Briggs said he will continue to focus on working together as a region, working on property tax issues, and continuing economic development.
Briggs also briefly ran for the 76th District House seat two years ago but withdrew after district boundary lines were changed through redistricting.
