Dole returns to area for series of stops

One-time U.S. Senator Bob Dole is making another sprint across the state later this month.

Dole has nine stops coming July 14 and 15, including five in the core KVOE listening area.

Dole will stop at the Council Grove Senior Center on July 14, with stops at the Chase County Courthouse, Greenwood Hotel, Coffey County Library and Osage County Senior Center all planned for July 15.

Dole has been touring the state this year to meet with residents, thank them for his support and hear their questions and concerns. Dole stopped in Emporia two months ago as part of a similar tour involving 16 cities over four days.

Dole served in the U.S. Senate from 1969 to 1996. He was also the Republican nominee for president in 1996 and was the vice presidential nominee on Gerald Ford's ticket in 1976.
