Armed robbery suspect information released; police investigating potential leads

Emporia Police are investigating potential leads Monday in an armed robbery from early Sunday morning.


Police Captain Dave DeVries said the robbery took place at the Short Stop Convenience Store, 1829 Merchant, around 1:30am. The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Asian male, late teens or early twenties, in a black hoodie, baseball cap and sunglasses. The suspect threatened the clerk with a handgun, and stole an unknown amount of cash and cigarettes. There were no physical injuries during this incident.
