Roberts appearance added to busy political week

Wednesday is turning out to be a busy day for political appearances.

Last week, it was announced Gov. Sam Brownback and House 76th District incumbent Peggy Mast would appear at the Olpe Chicken House at noon for a meet-and-greet. Brownback faces Jennifer Winn in the primary next week. Mast, meanwhile, faces former Coffey County representative Jeff Freeman.

Now U.S. Senator Pat Roberts is coming to Emporia on Wednesday morning, with a stop at Dynamic Discs, 912 Commercial, from 10:30 to 11 am. One of Roberts' primary opponents, Milton Wolf, stopped in Emporia during a bus tour a little over a week ago. Roberts is also being challenged by Alvin Zahnter.

Later this week, Mast and Freeman debate the issues of the 76th District during KVOE's Candidate Forum. That show airs at 10:06 am Thursday on KVOE, KVOE-TV and KVOE.com.
