Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters announce forum for area House candidates

The 2014 general election isn't for another two-and-a-half months, but the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and League of Women Voters have announced a candidate forum for races involving the Kansas House of Representatives.

The forum will be Sept. 30 at Flint Hills Technical College. Invited to the forum will be 76th District incumbent Republican Peggy Mast, along with Democrat Teresa Briggs and independent Bill Otto. Also invited will be 51st District incumbent Republican Ron Highland and 60th District incumbent Don Hill, who are both running unopposed.

KVOE will have its own Candidate Forum involving the House 76th District race as the general election approaches Nov. 4. Advance voting for the general election starts Oct. 16.
