Noted Chase County attorney passes away

Prominent local attorney William "Bill" North passed away Saturday at the Golden Living Center in Cottonwood Falls. He was 64.

 

North was born February 13, 1950, in Emporia. He graduated from Chase County High School in 1968, Emporia State University in 1972 with a Bachelor's in Business, and from Washburn University with a law doctorate in 1976. Following graduation, he joined attorney Karl Masoner's firm Masoner Attorney at Law in Cottonwood Falls, and later became a partner in the firm.

North is survived by his wife, three children, two sisters and two grandchildren. Burial services will be held Saturday at 10am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. The family will meet friends on Friday from 5:30 to 7:30pm at St. Anthony Hall in Strong City. Memorial contributions will be accepted to the American Cancer Society, and may be sent in care of the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, 201 Cherry in Cottonwood Falls, ZIP 66845.
