Growth on an international scale is prompting Dynamic Discs to add more warehouse space.
Dynamic Discs just purchased a 10,000 square-foot warehouse at 3601 West Sixth at the first of this year, linking to the company's retail and office space at 912 Commercial. On KVOE's Newsmaker segment Tuesday, owner Jeremy Rusco said Dynamic Discs is having to double its warehouse space by taking over another 10,000 square feet next door.
Rusco spoke before the first Trilogy tournament taking place this weekend. Players from 12 states, Canada and Sweden have already signed up to participate at Emporia's permanent disc golf courses at Jones and Peter Pan parks. Players will do a round on each of the courses, with the top four in each division playing in a nine-hole final round Sunday.
A block party is coming Saturday night in the 800 block of Commercial.
Rusco says work continues to bring the Pro Disc Golf Association World Championships to Emporia and the PDGA World Junior and Amateur Championships back to town in the coming years. He says plans to add a new permanent course and a hefty batch of sponsorships will help Emporia's chances -- and the new course could push the annual Glass Blown Open participation numbers past 1,100.
