Widespread freeze expected early Friday

The first hard freeze of the season is expected early Friday across much of the KVOE listening area.

Lyon and most surrounding counties are in a freeze warning from midnight to 9 am Friday, while Chase and Greenwood counties are in a frost advisory from 1 am to 9 am.

WIBW-TV meteorologist Drew Switzer says everything is setting up for several hours of below-freezing temperatures early Friday.

Low temperatures will get away from the freezing mark the next several days. In fact, we could see lows in the 50s Monday along with a possible thunderstorm.
