Patrons hungry for more from Appetite for the Arts

The Emporia Arts Center hosted Appetite for the Arts on Friday.

Appetite for the Arts was a fundraiser for the arts center, and a chance to show off the facility's new Culinary Arts Studio.

Over $7,000 was raised during the night. EAC Executive Director Melissa Windsor says reception from the community was warm, and there's more to the Arts Center than meets the eye.

The Skirts, a local all-woman folk group, provided entertainment.

Dinner was provided by Radius Brewing Company, who made good use of the new culinary arts studio. Windsor says those who missed the event can still check out the culinary arts studio during regular hours.

At the same time, the Veterans Artists Gallery opened at the Arts Center, but was closed during the Appetite for the Arts event. The gallery will be open throughout the month of November.
