The final book in heralded author Don Coldsmith's Spanish Bit series is out, and a special book signing and release party will be held at the Town Crier Bookstore on Tuesday evening.
Store owner Becky Smith says Coldsmith had the manuscript finished for "Moon of Madness" before he passed away in 2009.
Coldsmith's friend and colleague, Max McCoy, wrote the introduction and will sign copies of the book. Also, author and publisher Steven Law will be on hand after working to get the book published. Both will also sign copies of their own works during the event.
Coldsmith wrote over 40 books, and the Spanish Bit series helped to redefine the Western novel by taking the viewpoint of Native Americans. He won numerous awards, including Western Writers of America Golden Spur Award in 1990 and the Edgar Wolfe Award for lifetime literature contributions in 1995.
Activities run from 5 to 7 pm.
