Businesses are being careful after Thursday morning's water main break

Water shortages in Emporia, have put strains on businesses as well as citizens

After the major water main break Thursday morning, many businesses had to close for the day. Daryn Bontrager of Do-B's said that they were able to open,  but had to shut down all equipment that required water.

A boil water advisory is now in place for the city of Emporia, which Bontrager says can present a major challenge to most restaurants. Bontrager says that needing to run dishwashers can be an obstacle by itself.

Bontrager said that the water shortages have also affected individuals ability to cook at home or to find food in town.
