Cars cruise in for Flatland Cruisers Car Show

The chilly Saturday weather did not deter avid car enthusiasts from attending the 2th Annual Flatland Cruisers car show.

Cars lined Commercial Street and crowds turned out to admire their exteriors, interiors and mechanical components. Car show participant Tom Marstall, of Waskarusa, Kansas, skipped the drag races with his friends to attend the show. His 1940 Ford Standard business coupe took him about 5 years of labor to build. He explains why he chose this particular automobile.

Kent Burke of El Dorado brought his 1962 Chevy Belair, and a matching pedal car. He says it’s his “spare.”

Participants had fun during the car show and all proceeds from the show go towards scholarships for students in the Flint Hills Technical College Automotive Program.
