Dominguez competency hearing rescheduled

Another hearing date has been set in the murder retrial of Jimmy Dominguez.

Wednesday's competency hearing was shelved until March 30. Dominguez was unable to appear in court.

Dominguez has been in and out of court since 2014, when the Kansas Supreme Court vacated both his conviction and sentence for allegedly killing Jose Leyva and wounding Juan Rosales, Jr., in 2009. HIis first trial in 2010 ended in mistrial, while his second trial ended with convictions on murder and other counts.

The Supreme Court said there were faulty jury instructions as part of the retrial.

This retrial is set to begin May 15.
