Emporia City Commission begins finalization of two-year goal plan

Emporia city commissioners worked through a second goal setting and strategic planning session Tuesday evening as they prepare to adopt a framework heading into the next two years.

Ron Leupp with Growth Strategies of Wichita presented commissioners with a packet focusing on eight key areas, tasking commissioners with prioritizing each area by importance. The list included city economic development partnerships, workforce development, city governmental representative entities, housing, operational partnerships, best practices, water development and constituent/public communications. Commissioner Rob Gilligan says they were able to narrow that list down to six key areas.
