A juvenile suspect charged as an adult in the alleged kidnap and beating of a 16-year-old Emporia male will see the case against him go to trial.

Armando Nunez, 17, appeared at a pretrial hearing Tuesday where Judge Jeffry Larson set the case for jury trial in October. Nunez is charged with aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. Nunez has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Nunez is one of several co-defendants in the November incident. Earlier this year Samuel Garcia was sentenced to seven years in prison for his involvement. Sentencing hearings are coming June 26 for Jonathon Manzano and June 27 for Selena Hernandez. Alexander Couch has a preliminary hearing coming June 21 while Andrew Granado has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 27 for their alleged involvement as well.
