The Emporia High School band and American Red Cross stand to benefit from a special event at Emporia High on Wednesday.

The band is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive in the EHS commons today. The Red Cross obviously benefits from the blood, while the event raises money for the band. Band Co-Director Glenn Woolard talked about the idea for the fundraiser.

The blood drive will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can sign up ahead of time by calling 344-1004 or 1-800-733-2767, or by going online to www.redcrossblood.org
