For the third time this year disc golfers have descended on Emporia.

Unlike the Glass Blown Open and Match Play championships, this time the focus is on the juniors. For the first time, the PDGA Junior World Championship will be its own individual tournament, having been a part of the World Amateur Championships in year's past.

Tournament Director Doug Bjerkaas says the competition is very diverse with over 200 competitors in six different age groups.

With age groups ranging from six and under to 18 and under, Bjerkaas says there is a wide variation of experience amongst the competitors. He explains how that experience plays a factor in the qualification process.

The Junior World finals are scheduled to take place Saturday afternoon.
