Authorities from several area counties continue an investigation into reports of attempted thefts from vending machines.

Reports have come in from Lyon, Chase and Coffey counties, with locations in Hartford, Cottonwood Falls, Elmdale and virtually all Coffey County's incorporated communities having some reports of damage since late July.

The suspect is a white or Hispanic male. He was spotted on security cameras driving what appeared to be an older model Buick sedan -- at least he did until Tuesday, when the car was seized at an unspecified location in Emporia.

If you have information that could help the investigation, contact your local law enforcement office.
