Lyon County commissioners have a lengthy agenda for their action meeting Thursday.

Commissioners will consider an agreement with RES Americas, which has been working for several years to build a wind farm from the Reading area into western Osage County. A company spokesman recently said RES had secured a power provider agreement as one of the last steps before construction can begin, although it is not naming its partner at this time. If approved, construction could begin by the end of this year based on the current timeline and could be done by the end of 2019.

There are several agenda items relating to the Sheriff's Office, including the possible approval of new rifles and related equipment for a total cost of around $17,500 and a ValuNet FIBER quote for wiring the Law Enforcement Center to install new phones later.

In addition, Human Resources Director Janice Huffman will present a request to increase the so-called grade pay for some prosecutors in the County Attorney's Office. Community Corrections Director Steve Willis will discuss budget matters for his department. And Flint Hills Regional Council Director Gary Stith will have an update from the Flint Hills Regional Economic Development Group.

The meeting starts at 8 am in the Lyon County Courthouse.
