A Lyon County inmate granted time away to conduct a job search apparently thought his time off didn't have to end there.

Lyon County deputies are now searching for Michael Goulden, 45, after Goulden allegedly was supposed to go to Emporia's KANSASWorks office Monday and did not return. Goulden left at 8 am and was originally supposed to return by 11:30 am.

Goulden is a white male with brown hair, a graying beard, gray eyes and eyeglasses. He was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt, plaid brown cargo shorts, a white Pittsburgh Steelers cap and gray shoes when he was released from the Lyon County Detention Center.

Goulden was originally confined Aug. 7 for failure to appear in a civil case.
