The Emporia Airport will be hosting an annual car and aircraft show this weekend for local residents.

The Wings and Wheels show will be taking place Saturday morning. While the event is free to attend a special breakfast will be served with a cost of $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the Area Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).

The event will also feature Young Eagle Airplane rides which are free for children 8-12. The ride includes a sky tour of the city of Emporia and will last about 15-20 minutes. Last year the event provided roughly 72 different rides, and residents are encouraged to arrive early as a long line is expected to form.

The event will also have several cars and airplanes on display including a C-47 aircraft, a Life Team helicopter, Emporia flying club Cessna 172 and a flat land cruisers show. The breakfast begins at 8 am with the airplane rides beginning at 10:30 am.
