The Emporia School Board will take an in-depth look into its ongoing needs assessment during its regular meeting Wednesday night.

The board plans to hold a study session gathering input from school board members on what they'd like to see in terms of facility upgrades at each of the district's nine buildings. All month long, HTK Architects has been gathering input from parents, teachers and administrators, as well as other interested stakeholders with input meetings at various buildings. HTK Architects also plans to go over recommendations for improving safety and security at each building's main entries.

Other items on the agenda include a second publication notice of the 2018-19 budget, due to a higher property tax levy of 2.72 percent from the previous year.

One executive session is planned early in the meeting for unspecified reasons with action expected afterwards.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. inside the board's meeting room at the Mary Herbert Education Center.
