One week remains until one of the most exciting culinary competitions in Kansas.

After a successful inaugural campaign last fall, based off the hit Food Network TV show "Chopped" officials with Flint Hills Technical College decided to bring back the competition and renamed it "The Cut." Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch joined KVOE's Tech Talk this week and outlined what the competition entails.

Proceeds will benefit the planned renovations to FHTC's Culinary Arts program's ongoing campaign. FHTC President Dean Hollenbeck says those who come out are going to see the skills these future chefs are gaining in the curriculum, some who'll even go on to much bigger things after graduation.

Tickets are still available, however, space is limited to 150. Spectators will be able to watch the competition on the big screens in the FHTC conference room.

The event takes place at 6 p.m. Oct. 19. Call the FHTC Foundation office at 620-341-1380 for more information.
