Updates will highlight the Lyon County Commission's action meeting Thursday.

Aging Services Interim Director Mike Halleran will have an update on the department as a whole as preparations continue to have the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging take over county services beginning early next month. He will also update progress with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

Separately, Teresa Briggs of Healthier Lyon County will continue the discussion as both Lyon County and the city of Emporia work towards establishing a countywide food council.

In other business, County Engineer Chip Woods will discuss an agreement with Burlington Northern Santa Fe to fix the approaches at the Road U crossing. Emergency Center Director Roxanne VanGundy will also present a better than $73,000 payment for the center's 9-1-1 call handling package.

The meeting starts at 8 am in the County Courthouse.
