Dr. Ted Daughety is resigning as medical director of Newman Regional Health’s Sleep Disorder Clinic.

Daughtey has directed the clinic for 21 years. A news release from Newman Regional Health says Daughtey wanted to concentrate on his Topeka practice and spend more time with family. His time with the NRH clinic ends Feb. 1.

Associate Medical Director Dr. Victor Salloum has agreed to increase his presence at the clinic. In mid-March, Salloum plans to be in Emporia to see patients two Tuesdays every five weeks. The hospital expects a roughly 30 percent increase in clinic traffic with the new schedule.

The hospital expressed its appreciation for Daughtey and the work of his staff to meet the needs of area patients.
