Friday's Girl Scout Cookie Kickoff helped to prepare the young ladies for the oncoming cookie sales and preview what to expect.

The Bowyer Community Building hosted the event for Girl Scouts from the local area to gather. The girls varied in age and rank from elementary age to high school age.

Most Girl Scouts shoot for the stars when it comes to setting goals for the cookie season. Brynn Heffron, a fourth year Scout, is no exception. Heffron is hoping to sell 500 boxes of cookies and talks about which ones sell best for her.

Heffron made her rounds at the Kickoff to help boost her sales skills. The young Girl Scout explains what her favorite activities were.

Girl Scout cookie sales will begin on Saturday so keep an eye out around Emporia for Scouts stationed at local stores. You can also download the Girl Scout Cookie Finder mobile app to find scouts in your area.
