Thick fog across the area is thinning out faster than expected.

Dense fog advisories for Lyon and all surrounding counties Monday were canceled early. Patchy fog may still be evident through late Monday morning.

There is a chance drizzle could turn to freezing drizzle Monday night, but the prospects of that are currently slim.

5:30 am Monday: Dense fog advisories continue until 10 am for Chase, Greenwood counties

Thick fog is likely across parts of the KVOE listening area Monday.


Chase and Greenwood counties are in a dense fog advisory until 10 am. Lyon and our other surrounding counties were in a dense fog advisory for most of the overnight hours but that was canceled shortly before 5:30 am.

Visibility will be down to a quarter-mile or less at times. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

After sunset, there is a slight chance of freezing drizzle areawide.

Dense fog advisories cover the KVOE listening area. Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in advisories until 8 am, while Chase and Greenwood Counties are in advisories until 10 am.

Visibility will be down to a quarter-mile or less at times. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
