Potential U.S. Senate candidate for Kansas, Barry Grissom spoke at the Lyon County Democratic Party's (LCDP) monthly meeting.

Barry Grissom is a KU law graduate who served as a United States Attorney for Kansas from 2010-2016. The Senate seat Grissom is considering filling will become vacant in 2020 when current Senator Pat Roberts officially retires.

Grissom has a variety of motivations for seeking this position but states that listening to the voices of the constituents is among the most important.

There has not been a Democrat in the U.S. Senate from Kansas since 1939, and Grissom claims bipartisanship will be a large part of his tenure, if elected.

Grissom is still weighing the decision of making his run official with his wife and family and plans to make his announcement on the matter within the coming weeks.
