Fifteen chefs are currently signed up to compete in the Sertoma Club's Chili Cookoff coming late in March.

The Chili Cookoff will be at the Flint Hills Technical College on March 30th beginning at 11:00 am. Each chef will display their signature recipe to be judged in hopes of winning the grand prize.

Rather than benefitting the Sertoma Club, the funds raised will go back to the top three winners in the Cookoff. First place will get 50 percent of the earnings, second place will get 30 percent, and third place will get 20 percent.

Sertoma Club member Wes Matson says the Chili Cookoff is a way to reintroduce Sertoma to the public in hopes to increase member recruitment. Matson explains that all it takes is coming to a meeting to get started.

Tickets for the Cookoff will be $10 for every participant and this includes a sample of every recipe, a full bowl of the chili of your choice, a cinnamon roll, and Radius Brewing Company is donating beer to drink.

Sertoma member Bill Huth says people can still register as chefs and this can be done on their website by clicking here. Tickets for the Cookoff can be purchased at the door the day of or in advance from any Sertoma Club member.
