The Emporia Police Department has confirmed the search for an armed robbery suspect has come to an end.

According to Sergeant Lisa Sage, officers located and took 22-year-old Daniel McClead into custody around 2:30 pm Tuesday afternoon. Formal charges are currently pending.

McClead was being sought in connection to a trio of armed robberies which occurred through last week. The incidents include robberies at Casey's General Store at 126 S. Commercial Street Wednesday, June 5, and Sunday, June 9 as well as at Angelina's Fashion store at 328 Commercial Street on Sunday, June 9.

McClead's arrest follows the arrest of an additional suspect, 36-year-old Gustavo Perez-Garcia Monday evening. Garcia was booked into the Lyon County Detention Center on suspicion of aggravated robbery. Formal charges are pending.

McClead has a criminal history in at least two area counties. He left a Lyon County work assignment early last year and was arrested in Madison after allegedly trying to evade law enforcement. He was placed on Lyon County's Most Wanted list before his arrest last year.

The Emporia Police Department has not divulged the circumstances leading to McCleads arrest.  Further details are currently pending.

10 am Tuesday:  UPDATE: Reward offered as Emporia Police searches for robbery suspect

The Emporia Police Department Investigations Division is seeking help in locating a robbery suspect, and a reward is now in place as the investigation continues.

According to EPD, the suspect, 22-year-old Daniel McClead of Emporia, is being sought in connection to three armed robberies which have occurred in Emporia over the past week.

The first robbery occurred June 5 at Casey's General Store, 126 S. Commercial Street, just after 4 am. Two additional robberies occurred this past Sunday, the first at the same Casey's location just after 5 am and the second at Angelina's Fashion, 328 Commercial Street, around 5 pm.

One person is currently in custody in connection to the robberies. Gustavo Perez-Garcia, 36, of Emporia, was arrested Monday evening and booked into the Lyon County Detention Center on suspicion of aggravated robbery. Formal charges are currently pending.

McClead is a white male, 6-foot tall and 172 pounds based on the last information available through local law enforcement. He is considered armed and dangerous, and he has a criminal history in at least two area counties. McClead left a Lyon County work assignment early last year and was arrested in Madison after allegedly trying to evade law enforcement. He was placed on Lyon County's Most Wanted list before his arrest last year.

Earlier this year, McClead was arrested on suspicion of criminal carrying a weapon and other charges stemming from an incident allegedly in late March. He bonded out after meeting terms of an own-recognizance bond. He was supposed to be in Lyon County District Court for a plea hearing Monday but was listed as failing to appear, according to court records. 

Lyon County Crime Stoppers has issued a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests and convictions in this case.
