No individuals were taken to Newman Regional Health following a two-vehicle accident in western Emporia Tuesday evening.

According to Emporia Police on scene, a mini cooper was traveling south on Industrial Road shortly after 8:30 pm.  The vehicle slowed to navigate a turn east onto 18th Ave.

The driver of a GMC Pickup Truck was reportedly following too close and rear-ended the vehicle.  Lyon County EMS was called to the scene as the driver of the truck was complaining of head and neck pain, but required no further medical treatment.

The mini cooper suffered minor damage to the rear passenger door and tail light and was able to be driven from the scene.  The pickup had to be towed from the scene.  The driver of the pickup was cited for following too closely.

Traffic in the southbound lane on Industrial Road was disrupted for a short time as the scene was cleared.
