Father's Day weekend to see low-end severe weather risk Storm Prediction Center outlooks

Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast through the middle of next week, and there are low-end chances of severe weather in the short term.

The current outlook from the Storm Prediction Center shows a marginal-to-slight risk of severe weather for the KVOE listening area Friday night. Areas west of Kansas Highway 99 are officially in the slight risk area, with areas east of the highway under a marginal risk. High wind is the main concern.

On Saturday, most of Kansas, including the entire KVOE listening area, has a slight risk of severe weather. The main issues would be large hail and high wind.

The entire KVOE listening area, as well as most of Kansas, are currently under a marginal risk Sunday, again for hail and high wind.

Brief heavy rain is also possible with any thunderstorms that develop through Wednesday evening.
