Olpe Downhome Days start Friday night Featured

Olpe will be celebrating their 14th annual Olpe Downhome Days this Friday and Saturday.

The events begin at 7 pm on Friday with the youth rodeo at the Eagle Creek Saddle Club.

The festivities will continue Saturday morning with breakfast at 6 am with the Olpe United Methodist Church. Activities will continue throughout the day with Music performances, a bicycle race, a fun run, kids games, the veterans tribute, and a barbecue contest with proceeds going to local firefighters.

The veterans tribute will play each military branch's songs and also have veterans from the Honors Flight share their experiences from the flight.

Those who purchase tickets for the event have a chance to win a large selection of prizes including beef from Highland ranch, jewellery from Karie's Diamonds, free golf at the Emporia Golf Course, and several different gift baskets.

Tickets are $1 and can be purchased at town hall until Friday or from the info center the day of the event.
