The Sertoma Club of Emporia provided support for area college students while serving up a delicious breakfast Saturday.

The club's annual scholarship breakfast took place at the Emporia Senior Center and featured fresh-made biscuits and gravy, biscuit sandwiches, sausage and eggs. Club President Alice Dreier says attendance Saturday was well above what they have seen in previous years.

All proceeds from the breakfast go to support local Emporia State University and Flint Hills Technical College students. One department which has benefited greatly from the annual breakfast is the ESU Nursing Department.

ESU Nursing Department Chair Dr. Linda Adams-Wendling says the funds given by the Sertoma club each year are a major benefit for their students.

Sertoma club members were assisted in the kitchen Saturday by volunteers from Habitat for Humanity, Spangles and the Emporia State University Nursing Department. Totals from the fundraiser are pending.
